Prepare for Sugaring
Let's get you prepared for sugaring! Here, we talk about what to expect prior to your appointment. Click on one of the following topics to find out more, or simply scroll down.
Hair Length
Longer Hair: Leave the trimming to us! Trimming is included for all sugaring services as needed.
Shorter Hair: Make sure it's long enough to pull with your own two fingers or at least 1/4" long (quarter inch). If you can grab it, the sugar can grab it too!
Menstruation
You can still come in! If you are in your menstrual cycle, you can totally get your intimate area sugared as long as you are using a tampon or a menstrual cup. Tampon replacements are available in the bathroom as needed.
Erections
It's natural and happens all the time! This is a very intimate service and a boner is a natural part of having a penis. Nobody should be shamed, turned away, or told to control themselves for having a natural reaction. It's normally expected and we can discuss as needed to ensure comfort during the service.
Clean Skin
Fresh and Moisturized. A shower with some light lotion is perfect. If you're in a hurry, a body wipe in the area also helps. We offer complementary body wipes during your visit. Please be thorough in between crevices and booty hole areas as it is more exposed than usual for this service. This will ensure prime results.
Exfoliate Skin. Begin rubbing down the area with an exfoliant daily, at least 2 days prior to your appointment.
Pain Reduction
What You Can Do
Avoid stimulating drugs, meds, drinks like Sativa and Accutane and Coffee
Lidocaine Jelly: Safe to apply in ANY areas. Use 30 min before appointment start time
Advil or Ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
Stay consistent. FIRST TIME is almost always the worst! The more frequent and consistent you come in for sugaring, the more your body tolerates it over time.
On very rare occasions, we can stop the service if the pain is too much. Please know that services cancelled during the time of the appointment are subject to 100% non-refundable and non-transferrable charge.
What I Offer
These are all tools I provide to you. Either of us can initiate them at any time during the service.
Coordinated Breathing. If I notice that you are squirming or feeling discomfort, we will harmonize with breathwork. This has helped so many of my clients embrace the sugar without feeling the intensity of the hair removal.
Chilled Crystals. People who tend to get hot or sweat a lot (in association with pain) will be provided chilled refrigerated crystals during the service to hold in the palm of their hands. This helps cycle the blood flow away from the area being stimulated by sugar and helps the mind focus on the physical coldness.
Breaks. We can take small breaks between areas that are more sensitive or tender. This means we briefly stop sugaring that area and switch to another section of the body.
Shots. Complimentary shots of vodka and tequila are provided at the beginning or during the service if you find yourself unable to bare the pain in your sober state.
